# 🥇 A Missing Event Among Billions? How We Found It on an Event Mesh

A master diagnostic index and runbook mapping 8 real-world troubleshooting scenarios to detect, trace, and recover missing single events among billions inside an enterprise Event Mesh.

Have you ever been asked to find a single missing event among billions of events? Event-Driven Architecture (EDA) is inherently a distributed design, where an end-to-end business flow often spans multiple components and systems. As a result, troubleshooting can be extremely challenging. This series of posts explains the many reasons why an event can go missing and explores common issues through eight real-world cases. By understanding these scenarios, architects and engineers can diagnose problems more effectively and build more resilient event-driven systems.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://stephen-tsoi.gitbook.io/stephen-tsoi-docs/messaging-troubleshooting/a-missing-event-among-billions-how-we-found-it-on-an-event-mesh.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
